Falcons Win One But Fall the Next Two Games of the Playoffs

Dutchess Community College Falcons Claims Victory Over Nassau Community College In Round 1 of Region Tournament, Score 11-3
The Dutchess Falcons advanced to the Region Championship round against Suffolk Community College with an 11-3 victory of the Nassau Lions.  Dutchess Community College opened up scoring in the first inning on an error that scored two runs.  Dutchess tallied five runs in the second inning led by Cassandra Kielb, Addison Brandemarte, and Danielle Macario.  Each player sent runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.   Madison Hadley led things off in the circle for Dutchess. She allowed three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out seven. Dutchess Community College collected ten hits. Kielb, Macario, and Elizabeth McCarthy all managed multiple hits for Dutchess. Kielb led Dutchess Community College with three hits in four at bats. Dutchess Community College stole ten bases during the Dutchess was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Julianna Barone made the most plays with seven.
Suffolk CC Runs Away With Early Lead In Game 1 Victory in Region Championship
In Game 2 of the best of three series, Suffolk defeated Dutchess by a score of 15-2.  Suffolk CC took the lead on a single in the first inning and never looked back.   The Falcons struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Suffolk, giving up 15 runs.  Suffolk scored nine runs in the fourth inning.  Dutchess Community College racked up seven hits on the day. Madchen Knauss and Cassandra Kielb each managed two hits to lead Dutchess Community College.
Congratulations to Suffolk on their Region 15 Championship and Congratulations to Dutchess on their fantastic season.
 
Four Dutchess Falcons Recognized as members of the DIII Region 15 Softball All Tournament Team
Players Addison Brandemarte, Madchen Knauss, Cassandra Kielb, and Danielle Macario were selected as members of the All Tournament Team following the Saturday May 4, 2019 tournament.  Congratulatiuons on this wonderful accomplishment.
