Box Score WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The Dutchess Athletics Department honored the sophomores of the men's baseball team on Saturday prior to their 11-3 victory over Sullivan County Community College. The six sophomores, five of which who were present, played their final home game of their DCC careers in front of their friends and family at Dutchess Stadium.

Chad O'Hara was unable to attend the game and be recognized. The entire athletics department would like to say thank you to the six young men for proudly representing Dutchess Community College on and off the field and wish them all the best of luck in their future endeavors.
As for the game, the Falcons came out of the gates firing on all cylinders with five runs in the bottom of the first. The game was then put on hold in the top of the second due to a severe thunderstorm that passed through the Wappingers and Beacon area. After about an hour delay, they resumed play and continued where they left off with DCC leading 5-0.
Neither team was able to muster up much offensively for the next several innings until the sixth inning when Sullivan managed to push across a run, but the Falcons answered right back with five more in the bottom half to take a 10-1 lead. A couple more runs from the Generals kept them alive in the seventh, but it was all for not as Dutchess added one more to force the mercy rule victory, 11-3 in seven innings.
Brendan Malouf earned the win in relief following the rain delay for the Falcons. He pitched 4 2/3 innings, giving up just one unearned run on four hits, and striking out three.
Isiah Nugent started the game and was lights out before the rain came, firing a scoreless 1 1/3 innings and striking out two.
Dutchess collected a whopping 12 hits in the game.

Andrew Kemmerer each had multi-hit games in this one.
John Wheeler added a pair of RBI and Thrasher led the team driving in three on a bases clearing triple in the first inning.
Gilberto Gil led Sullivan offensively going 2-for-4 with a two run home run.
The Falcons now find themselves with an overall record of 17-8 and a regional record of 12-6. They finish the regular season with two final road games against the same Sullivan Generals this week.
