In their first home game of the season, the DCC Falcons hosted a powerful and deep Suffolk team. The game was close early, but eventually the Sharks pulled away with a commanding lead by the middle of the second half. 

In the beginning of the game, the Falcons were able to keep the Sharks off the board with good defensive play. It was not until later in the first half the Sharks broke through with their first goal and then ended the first half up 2-0. 

Although the Sharks scored another three unanswered goals in the second half of play, Goalie Andrew Rathbun shined and kept his team in the game throughout the match. 

"The strength and depth of the Suffolk squad showed when they pulled away to a 5-0 win," said Coach Jim Purdy. "On a positive note, goalkeeper Andrew Rathbun was outstanding in goal with 11 saves."  

The team is still in search of their first win of the season. The men look to rebound in their next game against Rockland Community College on Tuesday September 17 at 4 p.m.
