M Baseball coached by Al Hammell
Men's Baseball did not field a team in the Spring 2024 semester due to low interest from prospective student-athletes. Men's Baseball is now a DIII sport instead of DII sport at DCC. Coach Hammell is currently holding optional training sessions with baseball student-athletes twice per week during Spring 2024. The team sponsored Winter Training Sessions on Sundays during January, February, and March to generate revenue for the baseball program. The Winter Training Sessions provided in-door space to 15 local youth teams who are preparing for their Spring seasons. Coach Hammell has been assisting OLLCHS baseball and softball programs coordinate practices and games at DCC as part of the ongoing relationship between the college and high school to share resources and facilities. The DCC Baseball Coaching staff is actively recruiting current DCC students to join the program in Fall 2024 and recruiting high school prospects for enrollment and participation at DCC in Fall 2024. Students recruited will be offered the option to sign NLIs (National Letters of Intent) for 2024-2025 in the coming months. The Athletic Department is working with returning student-athletes to ensure they have access to academic resources for continued success in the classroom and to ensure they meet the requirements for 1st or 2nd season eligibility.
