DCC Men's Basketball Falls at National Tournament

The Dutchess Men's Basketball team made it into the DIII National Tournament as an automatic qualifier by winning the Region XV Championship. The Falcons were selected as the #7 seed in the tournament to set up a rematch with #10 Dallas-College Richland who took down DCC in the 2024-25 DIII National Tournament.

    DCC turned in a big second half but were unable to overcome Dallas-College Richland, falling by a score of 63-58. Sophomore Supreme Niles led the team in scoring, he added 17 points while also grabbing 3 steals. Freshman Jordin Walker scored 12 points on 80% shooting and grabbed 3 rebounds. Sophomores Josiah Salmon and Jadyn Wilson were the teams best rebounders, Salmon came down with 8 boards while Wilson grabbed 7 of his own.

    After falling to Dallas-College Richland, DCC faced off against the #6 seeded team Montgomery County CC for their final match up of the season in the consolation round. It was a tie game at the half but Montgomery were able to pull away by a score of 84-74 to finish. Freshman Jordin Walker had a career game in his first trip to the National Tournament, scoring 23 points on 69% shooting from the floor. Sophomore Elijah Cherry provided 10 points off the bench, knocking down two of his three 3 points attempts. Sophomore Supreme Niles scored 10 points of his own and came down with 6 rebounds. DCC combined to block 8 shots in the game, Sophomore Josiah Salmon finished with 3, Sophomore Jadyn Wilson and Freshman Shawn Jones both added 2 of their own.
