Women's Soccer Drops Home Game to Union County

10/1/2017 10:38:00 AM

Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Dutchess Community College Women's Soccer played with tons of passion on Saturday in a 2-0 loss to the New Jersey power house, Union Community College. The Falcons record is 5-3-0.

Union would score off a well-placed direct kick 28:54 into the match and again 61:59 from the top of the box during the run of play. The Falcons were relentless for 90 minutes. Sara Chang, Jenna DiMarzo, Kristy Garcia, and Lauren Regan played tough with high pressure defense in the middle of the field. Lauren Aloia, Daisy Godoy, Maritza Palacios, and Elizabeth Rolleri limited the quality opportunities Union had at goal. Kelsie McDowell has 18 saves.

"As soon as the whistle blew, we came out strong and intense. With power and teamwork we gave it our all, and I could not be more proud of my teammates," Kelsie McDowell said.

Elizabeth Rolleri added, "During our warm up before the game we were a mess and our coach definitely let us know. When we stepped out on the field and that whistle blew a switch turned on in everybody and we came alive. Today I saw my teammates do things I didn't know they could do and each and every one of us played hard the entire 90 minutes. I'm proud of my team and how we came out a competed regardless of the outcome of the game. Teams have obstacles they need to overcome and we definitely have ours. I know the only direction we can go from here is up and I can't wait to see what else we have up our sleeve. We prove ourselves each and every game and we aren't a team to be overlooked."
