Box Score Dutchess Community College emerged victorious 108-101 against Rockland CC on Tuesday on the strength of freshman Justin Vega, who scored 31 points.

The Falcons fell behind early, trailing 49-46 by the half, only to come back strong in the final two quarters. Both teams were aggressive on the field, with Dutchess picking up 27 fouls while Rockland had 26.

Vega was on the ball for DCC, making 54% (13-for-24) of shots attempted and knocking down all three of his free throws attempted.

Alfredo Robles also shined for the Falcons dropping 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting while making 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Shaheim Fryar made it into double digits, scoring 16 points for Dutchess while 4-for-8 from the field. Joe Langan (10 points), and Nowah Rosado (9 points) each sunk multiple three-pointers in the contest.

Also helping the effort for DCC were Lawrence Odusanya (8 points, 6 rebounds) and Michael Davis (3 points, 6 rebounds). Fryar was also a big defensive contributor as well, racking up five rebounds and two steals.
