Box Score In a great showing,
Azzelea McLeish scored 13 points, but this was not enough as Dutchess fell to BMCC 58-42. The Falcons finished with a strong final quarter, adding 17 points. However, it was not enough to close the point gap.
Making 83% (5-for-6) of free throws attempted, McLeish had a great game from the line for DCC while also sinking a pair of three-pointers.
Two other players also scored in the double digits for Dutchess. Sophomores Virginia Wheatly and
Azuzena Santiago racked up 12 and 10 points, respectively. Also contributing for the home team were Taylor Scarpelli (5 points, 2 rebounds) and
Monica Robles (2 points, 1 rebound).
Rose Spuhler was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up eight rebounds and added in three steals.
The Falcons only shot 27% from the field in comparison to BMCC who shot a much more efficient 41%.
Next on the schedule for the DCC Women's Basketball team is a Sunday, January 21st meeting at Hostos Community College.
