Box Score 3 The Dutchess CC Women's Basketball Team came back from Winter Break with a busy schedule. The faced a slate of 3 games in their first week back, Tuesday 1/20 at Bronx, Thursday 1/22 at Westchester and Saturday 1/24 hosting Suffolk.
In their first game of the week the Falcons fell down early to Bronx and were unable to fight their way back to lose 77-56. Sophomore
Eva Bertiz led the way with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 8 blocks, it was Bertiz's 7th double-double of the season. Freshman
Kamira Sutton scored 17 points for the second most on the team while being tied for the team lead with 4 assists and grabbing 7 rebounds. Sophomore
Katrina Carmel also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Sophomore
Joey Roach scored 8 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for her first double digit rebounding performance.
The second match up of the week for the Falcons was a test against division 2 Westchester. Dutchess fell to WCC by a score of 89-38. Freshman
Amelia Turner was the leading scorer for DCC, she finished with 15 points. Sophomore
Katrina Carmel was the top rebounder with 10, including 5 offensive rebounds. Sophomore
Eva Bertiz had 4 blocks and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sophomore

Angelina Nesheiwat both grabbed 6 rebounds off the bench.
Dutchess finished their week at home taking on Suffolk, in a back and forth affair DCC fell short, losing 50-47. Sophomore
Eva Bertiz added her 8th double double of the season, she scored 18 points and captured 12 rebounds. Freshman
Kamira Sutton and
Amelia Turner added 8 points (Sutton) and 7 points (Turner).
The Falcons will return to play on Tuesday 1/27 when they take a trip to Hostos, the next home game for DCC is on 1/31 against Word of Life.
