Falcons Men's Basketball Continues To Dominate

    The DCC Falcons Men's Basketball Team went 2-0 over their last week of games, taking down Region XV opponents in Laguardia CC and Queensborough CC. Dutchess was ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA DIII national rankings.

    The Falcons hosted Laguardia CC on February 5th, more than doubling up their halftime lead of 29 to win 110-42. Sophomore Josiah Salmon was the team's leading scorer, finishing with 19 points and making 8 of 10 shots. Two Freshman off the bench tied to be the team's 2nd leading scorer. Kameron Quinn scored 14 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and shot 75% from the field while Shawn Jones scored 14 points, came down with 9 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. Sophomores Daniel Ogunleye and Elijah Cherry both added 10 points, Ogunleye led the team with 4 steals and Cherry secured 8 rebounds. 15 different Falcons added points and 5 different Falcons dished out 3+ assists.

    DCC's next game was at Queensborough on Saturday February 7th. The Falcons traveled well and came home with a 67-57 win. Sophomore Supreme Niles scored 16 points, made 3 3 pointers and came down with 7 rebounds. Sophomore Josiah Salmon scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Off the bench, Freshman Shawn Jones secured a game high 11 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. Sophomore Nouhoun Diarra made both 3 pointers he attempted and came down with 5 rebounds.

    DCC will host #12 Monroe Bronx on Tuesday February 10th in a match up of the 2 top teams in Region XV. The game will take place at Falcon Hall on the DCC Campus at 7pm
