Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

After a tough loss against Ulster on Thursday, the Women's Volleyball team hosted Nassau and Suffolk Community College. The team was looking to rebound, but fell short after losing the first match to Nassau 3-1 and the second match to Suffolk 3-0.

Although the scores might look deceiving the Falcons played great in both matches keeping all the sets close.

In the first match, Nassau won the first set and Dutchess came back to win the second. Nassau then took the following two sets. The team only lost by an average of 4.6 points per set, showing that the team was in the match the whole time. Nadya Kruguer had 12 digs, 6 assists, and 5 aces in the match.

In the second match, Suffolk came out firing and won the first three sets, putting a dagger in the match quick. Although the game ended in a three set sweep the Falcons only lost each set by an average of 6.6 points. Winnie Carabin ended the match with 7 digs, 4 kills, and one ace.

Emily Aldrich also had a big day on the court in both matches combining for 11 kills, 4 aces, 20 dig, and 6 blocks.

"We played extremely well in the first match," said Coach Frank Sanfilippo. "In the second match the first set and a half started slow, we eventually got a rhythm going, but fell short."

The team is now 1-6 on season, but look to get their second win against Rockland on Tuesday September 24 at 7 p.m. in Falcon Hall.
