10/3/2023 4:16:00 PM

Dutchess Volleyball, after winning the Region 15 Championship last year, has started out the 2023 season 11-1. Six weeks into the year, the Falcons hold the number 4 ranking in the weekly NJCAA Division 3 and are on a 10-match winning streak and only dropping 3 sets throughout that time.

For Dutchess, Sophomore Lauren Siegel leads the team with 90 kills averaging 2.31 kills per set while also leading the team in points per set at 3.2 and being second on the team in digs with 104. Sophomore Grace Ferretti leads the team in all blocking categories averaging half a block per set, Grace also is dominant on the scoring side of things where she is second in kills. The 2 people that are setting Grace and Lauren up are Sophomores Nicole Spero and Kaitlin Robin, Nicole leads the team with 4.46 assists per set and is second on the team in service aces. Kaitlin is second on the team in assists per set with 2.59 and is fourth on the team in kills.

For the Freshman on the team, Franchelis Guzman is the team leader in returns with 210 and digs with 145. Cali Delvecchio leads the team in service aces with 44 and Riley Gemmel is second on the team averaging 1.65 kills per set. Maya-K Johnson missed the first 4 matches of the season but since returning has been the most efficient player in attack percentage with a 30% rate, she also is second on the team in blocks per set and points per set.

The Falcons will take the court again tonight Tuesday October 3rd at Orange County Community College. The next home game will be Saturday October 14th when they take on Hudson Valley Community College at 12pm.
