Dutchess Volleyball End of Season Wrap Up

    The Dutchess Community College Women's Volleyball Team finished their season with a loss to the eventual champion Westchester Vikinings in the Quarterfinals of the Region XV Tournament. They ended the year with a 13-12 record while going 12-5 during Region XV play including a 6 match winning streak. In Head Coach Tim Milholm's first season, Dutchess also finished as runner ups in the Mid-Hudson Conference Tournament.

    The Falcons were led by Sophomores Jasmin Gomez who was named to the Region XV First Team and Kayla Baez who was named to the Region XV Honorable Mention Team. Gomez finished the season with 471 assists and averaged 5.96 assists per set good for 3rd in the Region. Baez led the team from the middle with the most blocks and blocks per set while also averaging the second most points per set and kills per set. Freshman Dafina Berisha was the team leader with 3.51 kills per set (#2 in Region XV), 2.65 digs per set and 1.02 service aces per set. Sophomore Katrina Carmel added the 3rd most points per set on the team and also led the team with 207 service receptions. Dani Heady was recognized on the Region XV Sportsmanship team.

    The Falcons will look towards trying to make a return to the Region XV Championship in 2026. To the players who are moving on: Kayla Baez, Katrina Carmel, Jasmin Gomez, and Dani Heady, the Athletic Department thanks you for the effort and time you put forth to making yourselves better and we wish you success in you future endeavors.
