The DCC Falcons Women's Volleyball team for the second straight year have earned themselves a spot in the national tournament and won the Mid-Hudson Conference.  Dutchess' final week of games was a test to how strong of a team they have, the team played 5 matches during the week winning the Mid-Hudson Conference for the 2nd straight year and including a rematch of last year's Region Final with Monroe Bronx where DCC ended up falling. The Falcons then traveled to Iowa for the National Tournament where they fell in their first matchup vs the number one seeded Dallas College Eastfield and in their 2nd matchup against Harper College.

The Falcons, scoring wise, were led by Sophomores Grace Ferretti and Lauren Seigel plus Freshman Maya-K Johnson who all averaged over 2.7 points per set with Johnson leading the way averaging 3.1. Assisting those 3 and the rest of the team are a pair of Sophomores Nicole Spero and Kaitlin Robin, Spero on the year averaged over 4 assists per set and was also the team leader in service aces, Robin was 2nd on the team averaging 3.5 assists per set while being top 5 on the team in almost every statistical category. Freshman Riley Gemmell, Cali Delvecchio and Franchelis Guzman were all major contributors as well, Guzman led the team in digs on the season as well as service receptions, Gemmell was third on the team in kills while Delvecchio was 3rd on the team in service aces and digs.

Individual players earned awards for their success in the 2023 season. Lauren Siegel was named to the All-Region first team and All-Tournament team, Region XV. Grace Ferretti was named to the All-Region second team and All-Tournament team. Maya-k Johnson received an All-Region honorable mention, and Franchelis Guzman was named Region XV defensive player of the year.  Lauren Siegel was selected as the Mid-Hudson Conference MVP for the 2023 season.  Grace Ferretti and Maya-k Johnson were selected for the Mid-Hudson Conference 1st Team

Dutchess played their hearts out this fall and were always a tough opponent whoever they faced. The Falcons will look towards next season with the same hopes as this one, to reach the national tournament and compete against the best of the best like they have the past 2 seasons.
