    Dutchess Volleyball opened their season with a Double Duel on Saturday where they took on Hudson Valley Community College and Finger Lakes Community College.  

    In their first match of the season the Falcons were able to take down Hudson Valley by a score of 3-1. DCC fell in the first game of the match by the score of 25-20 but bounced back in a big way winning the next 3 by a combined score of 75-34. Sophomore Lauren Siegel led the way in kills for the Falcons with 15 while adding 6 digs for the team as well. Grace Ferretti had the 2nd most kills on the team with 10 and was the leader in blocks. Nicole Spero put up 26 of the team's 31 assists and on the defensive side of the ball she added 6 digs as well. Three different members of the team were tied for the lead in digs for the match, Freshman Franchelis Guzman, Cali Delvecchio and Sophomore Gabriella Radovic all put up 9 digs for the team in their win.  

    In the second game of the double duel, Dutchess fell to Finger Lakes Community College 3-1. The Falcons fought hard in their first weekend of play but after taking the first set it was tough to get anything going. Lauren Siegel was the leader in kills and digs for DCC in this match putting up 7 kills and 14 digs. Leading the team in assists with 11 was Nicole Spero who also added 7 digs of her own. Freshman Franchelis Guzman finished 2nd on the team in digs and assists, she added 12 digs and 4 assists.  

    The Falcons will return to the court when they host Rockland Community College on September 7th at Falcon Hall on the DCC Campus.
